Sailing the World on SV Indy

Two loose footed souls on an epic global sailing adventure

Here are some shots from our adventures!

Where are we now? And where have we been?

What you’re looking at: You’re looking at a map of where we are with a wind overlay showing the current windspeed. We use a program called PredictWind to download wind, weather, and wave data via satellite phone.

How to read the map The arrows show the direction that the wind is coming from. The color shows the windspeed. The warmer the color, the stronger the wind.

What is a knot (Kts)? A knot is nautical miles per hour.

Purple ~ 0 Kts    Blue ~ 5Kts (5.5 mph)   Green ~10Kts (11.5 mph)    Yellow ~ 15Kts (17.25 mph)    Orange ~ 20Kts (23 mph)

Red ~25Kts (29 mph)  Dark red-Black 25-50Kts (fast)

Where are we going?

We are headed across the Pacific baby! First stop, the Marquesas.
